Theatre man now into production

Theatre has been Zeth Nzama’s home for many years

He’s written plays, mentored up-and-coming artists, and had foreign audiences begging for more.

The veteran theatre creative from Lovu Durban, KZN, has decided to go in music production and us putting the final touches to his debut album Quathizwe, to be released soon.

The 53-year-old, whose love affair with theatre started in 1989 at the Stable Theatre in Durban, Described his music as world style because it has different Afro Jazz, pop, and jazz influences.

Zeph told SunBuzz he spent many yeats visiting countries such as England, the US, Germany, Italy and Morocco, doing plays.

“I’ve learned to view things differently. That’s how I drew my inspiration when writing songs for the upcoming album.” He said “The message in my songs is about kindness and peace. “I’ve also worked with artist from the Congo because they bring another dimension through their guitar and production skills”

Zeth said he prides himself on uncovering a lot of raw talent in KZN. Some of the artists he mentored have gone to join Joyous Celebration while others have landed themselves roles on e.tv’s Imbewu: The Seed and Mzanzi Magic TV Show Isithembiso.

“It fills me with pride when I see young artists like Angel Zondo doing well in their solo projects.”

“Philile Ntintini is travelling the world through K-Cap productions while Sam Hlophe is also doing well on Mzansi Magic TV.”

“Soon, Sheila Da Bluenotte will be releasing a single. All these women were discovered in my musical, Women in SIngle in 2017.”

Zeph encourages young artists not to rest on their laurels once they are given a breakthrough.

“I ensured that I empowered myself by attending many creative courses to always be updated. This has helped me to be relevant and to move with the times, ” Zeph said.
